Our Mission

"Bring the HEALING POWER and JOY of live music to seniors who are isolated, neglected and forgotten."

Hidden throughout our communities is a silent and forgotten population. They are the seniors living out their remaining lives in retirement homes and assisted living facilities. They get few visitors. They feel lonely, neglected and are often depressed. We bring them healing, joy and companionship through the power and universality of live music. We create special moments for them to relive some of their fondest memories.

What We Do

We are a volunteer group of musicians called "Encores On Wheels". We give concerts at different senior facilities throughout the Mid-Peninsula and South Bay. Concerts are usually on Saturdays and Sundays from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.

We strive to give the seniors music which Connects and Resonates with them. We also strive to provide Variety at each concert: variety in genres which encompass classical, jazz, Broadway, folk and popular music; variety in performers usually numbering half a dozen from different age groups; and variety in instruments ranging from vocals to instrumental solos to instrumental ensembles. We also strive to Engage the seniors. We often conclude each concert with a sing along with the seniors. We also encourage the seniors to perform with us. Just as importantly, we have a lot of Fun at these concerts!

We are currently limited in our ability to reach more seniors by the number of volunteers we have. Our goal is to bring our music to many more seniors in our communities with the help of additional volunteer musicians.
